Mets explosion 9-0

The Mets offense exploded last night, beating Albert Pujols and the Cardinals 9-0.  Almost every Met stepped up - Wright with a 2 run homer and Angel Pagan with a totally clutch 3 for 4 performance, including a homer.  We predicted Pagan's clutch-ness right here a few days ago. Even Nelson Figueroa, who crashed and burned in a major way on his last game, pitched absolutely beautifully converting the New York crowd from boos to cheers.  Now, if only the Mets could sustain some offense AND pitching in a more even way, we might have a chance.  Instead, all we're seeing these days is awful pitching, weak offense and the occasional explosive win.  All that'll get you is a below .500 season.

Johan worked really hard

We're heading into extra innings right now against the Cards tied 7-7 because Franky blew his 4th save.  No matter what happens, Santana worked hard for this one.  Even though his command was so-so, he did everything he could.  He fielded great and even hit a 2 run double.  He deserves his 13th win.  In the show, however, deserving and getting are often two different things!

See-saw, see-saw, oh so fun!

The classic national league see-saw battle, one team takes the lead, then the other team takes over, over and over and maybe A 3rd time.  Well, thats what's going on in Citi Field.  Mets vs. Cards.  It went from 1-o to 1-3 to 3-3 to 4-3 to 4-7. The mets lead it 7-4 in the 7th.

Another Grandy

Pagan hit a grand slam??!! Last night, Angel Pagan hit a tie-breaking grand slam, his first home run as a Met, and it was a biggie.  It broke open a 5-5 tied game in the eighth.  The Mets went on to win 9-6.  Pagan is looking more and more clutch these days.
