No hitter fever

My brother is out with my dad and just posted a blog post.  I read it, turned to YES, and #47 Gonzalez on the A's is working on a no hitter in 5th. still 0-0.

Can't believe I had this thought

So, I'm sitting in a glitzy new diner having lunch with my Dad on a beautiful Saturday afternoon and the Yankees Oakland game is up on the flat screen. I had this thought "the Mets are so bad I'm open." Then I caught myself - what am I thinking?!A symptom of how desperate we Mets fans have become!

Nutzo

No idea why I'm tellin you this but here goes.  I'm watching a weird sport show and they showed a bit a cubs baseball, I think.  A guy check-swung, the ball hit the bat, the ball bounced on the dirt and hit the umpires, a, nutz.

A second half pitching star??? (really???)

Thank you Santana for giving the Astros the lead!  See, we're halfway through the first game of the Astros series, and Hampton - their pitcher! - hit a 2 run homer!!  So far Santana has allowed 5 runs on 11 hits heading into the 6th.  At least the Cardinals are blowing out Philly 6-0, Omir Santos just hit a solo homer and Santana just got walked.  Santana has traditionally been a great second half pitcher - I'm taking a wait and see attitude, how 'bout you?
SANTANA TO THE RESCUE!  Like always our ace pitcher #57 Johan Santana is left to get the very much needed W.  This time it's against Houstin Astros.

The Disabled List virus has traveled all around the U.S.  All the way to Texas.  The Astro hitter/slugger Lance Berkmen was put on the DL with a strained left calf thursday July 23, 2009, so we caught a bit of a break.

And now for the good news!

What?  There's good news?  In a strange way, yes.  When you hit bottom, it can't get worse, and I think this is bottom.  Let me explain - if the Nationals are the worst team in baseball, and we lose 2 of 3 to the Nationals, then ... do you see where I'm headed here?

My first blog- therefore, some bad news!

Welcome to my kids blog all about the baseball team The New York Mets.  Made for kids, by kids.

Buerhle pitched a history making perfect game in Chicago.  He got a phone call from President Obama, who is a big White Sox fan.  I wish we could have done that!

Being 10.5 games back - yes, you heard me - 10.5 games back - we had off today and the Phillies won against the Padres 10-4.
