The subway series encapsulates how to beat the Yankees

But I didn't say it was easy, now did I? The Yankees win by hitting home runs, so the Mets won game one last night in a shut out with fantastic pitching by R.A. Dickey and 3 terrific relievers. Tonight? Different story. It's now the 7th inning and the Mets are losing 6-3. The Yankees have scored all 6 on home runs by Martin, Granderson, Teixera and Rodriguez.

Jose Reyes on a tear: league leader in 3 categories

Jose Reyes is living up to his all-star potential. He is a league leader in steals, triples and multi-hit games. Keep it up, Jose!

Justin Turner - definition of clutch

In the second game of the subway series, Justin Turner has now broken the Mets rookie RBI record. He is THE definition of clutch. His RBIs have driven in the majority of the Mets runs in the last several games. The silver lining of all these injuries is that your prospects get to come up and show you if they're ready for the show. And Justin Turner is most definitely ready for the show.

What are we the Yankees?

Not that we're complaining, mind you, but the Mets have scored all their 5 runs with homers - a solo shot by Jason Bay in the 7th, a 2 run pinch hitter by Fernando Martinez (his second at bat of the season), and a sharp line-drive 2 run homer by David Wright. That's Yankee behavior! but we'll take it any day.

Division Hitters Series:Part 1

Kid Met here. Recently I've been thinking. How about I share some of my baseball knowledge with my readers. I will tell you the 3 best hitters in each division. Here goes.

I'll start with the N.L. Central:
Ryan Braun-LF-Milwaukee Brewers
He is one of the best overall players in baseball. 2007 rookie of the year with 34 hr and 97 rbi. He has a great arm, which is why the Brewers moved him from 3rd base to left field. He has 138 homers since his debut in'07 and a major league leading 10 homers so far in 2011. Not to mention he's one of a few Jewish stars in the bigs.
Joey Votto-1b-Cincinnati Reds
2010 NL MVP.One of the fastest rising 1st baseman in his league. He has gotten better on the field and can flat out hit.
Albert Pujols-1b-St.Louis Cardinals
Not much to say. Only that he has been noted as the best player in current baseball. Great fielder. AMAZING HITTER. 415 home runs. And, he is only 31 YEARS OLD
